Jim,
I think that this is not an issue. You paint the figure or you leave it.
If you want my opinion, all the figures we painting with a military background (yes the cruisaders too) are or where criminals.
In every group there are good and bad guys. Even under the Japanese, Nazi's etc. where men who were forced to do things they don't wanted to do.
But i think we haven't do this discussion on the Planet here. There are other communities where you can discuss this point of vieuw.
