This is from TFB's ACW range 75mm in resin.
I don't often alter any figures, but after doing some research and looking at some photos,
I decided to have a go and alter the beard and moustache.
At this stage the face has been painted in acrylics (Vallejo), and I've begun building up
the reds of the shirt, using the scale 75 range.

Nice soup strainer you have given him, the red shirt is looking good, SC75 reds can take a little work but are good scale representation for clothing.

Cheers Simon

Thanks Simon, After going through some photos I couldn't resist adding the soup strainer as you call it.
Considering I'm can't sculpt for a toffee, I'm quite pleased with the result.
You're right about the reds, it does take a while to build up the layers, I'm also trying out a black primer.
I'll be back at the bench after watching the F1 qualifying. :)

Hi Malc

You sneaked this in ....lol ......liking the beard .....gives me something to hang on to .....as Lord Flash said once ...lol

Nice start on the shirt .....looking forward to seeing more

Have fun @ the bench

Nap

Thanks Nap, glad you like the beard, could this be the start of me pushing putty around a bit more???????

Nice beard. I like the red of his shirt too.
Melanie

Thanks Melanie, I'm pleased the way the beard turned out, as well as the shirt.
I gradually built up the layers and tones which have brought out a finish.
Those Scale 75 paints dry nice and flat.

Great start Malc it’s coming along very well indeed. Loving the beard and the red is coming along very well indeed.

Stefan you would enjoy the ACW range we do they are a little different to the traditional blue and gray. A lot are Militia units from the start of the war. A good splash of colour.

Thanks Terry, I'm pleased you like the alteration to the beard, I'll be back at the bench tomorrow, so hopefully I can post an update on the progress.

Progress has been a little slow, as I've been concentrating on the haversack and canteen strap, prior to working on the canteen.
Once I've finished this step I can paint the trousers and fit the left arm in position.
The canteen has been fitted in position, and I've consealed the join of the straps with magic-sculpt, and put aside to dry.
