Hi George, very nice composition, i 'm waiting to see it painted.
Ελπίζω να το δούμε και απο κοντά στην έκθεση, έστω και άβαφτο.

Very nice work George and wonderful subject, you know my love for the byzantine era.It is a strange coincidence because I also have started a vignette with the same subject with the difference that the story is an incident after that battle where the leader of the Franks Guillaume de Villehardouin was arrested by the byzantine soldiers inside a barn where he was hiding in the straws and the funny is that they recognise him from the big front teeth he have. This is a great battle for medieval Greeks because that victory led to the recapture of Constantinople from the Franks (I thing I can wright an article about that battle). Soon I'll put some pics of my work. Again my congrats George, looking forward to see it finished!!!

well the diorama is about the end of the battle. The frankish Kights surounded by the artchers of the Byzantines are about to surrender to the Byzantine leader.
The main persons are Byzantine "sebastokrator" John Palaiologos brother of the emperor, and the Baron Hugues de Bruyeres, Baron and Master of Karytena. He was the main person in Morea after Villehardouin, and he was his relative because of his marrige, and he had about 600 mounted men under his command (Villeardouin had about 1000), he was also one of the most respectful men among the Knight's world. During the battle he killed the commander of the German mersenaris of the Byzantine army, duke of karinthia and with his men destroy the German heavy cavalary of the Niceans (300 heavy cavalarymen). But finally he was surrounded by the horse archers and the foot artchers of the enemy and what happened was look like battle of Angincourt. According to the chronicle of morea, John Palaiologos saw his Flag and that he was about to get killed because he refused to surender to low rank byzantine officers and went himself, to call him to surrender, promising that he will treat him with respect. The baron finally captured end became a prisoner of the Emperor of Byzantium.

George,
This is a great diorama, with alot of action and figures.
If i understood it correctly you sculpted all the figures.
What scale is it.
I also looking forward to the painted version.

Wow!!! A big diorama with lots going on. From what you are showing, it looks as though it will be a great piece of work. Love to see more pics of your WIP.
