I am startiing to think that steampunk is a convenient cover for modelling hot chickies without getting flak from the wife.

Very nice piece but not steampunk.
Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction that typically features steam- powered machinery, especially in a setting inspired by industrialized Western civilization during the 19th century. Therefore, steampunk works are often set in an alternate history of the 19th century's British Victorian era or American "Wild West", in a post-apocalyptic future during which steam power has regained mainstream use, or in a fantasy world that similarly employs steam power.

I disagree Marc

Steampunk, dieselpunk, dystopia, anime, fantasy - call it what ever it's a great creative piece of work. I so dislike labels when it comes to creative work.

Love the subtle mechanical arm which is very not obvious at all when you look at it. Love your work dude.

Failing to see how it can't be steam punk myself Airships are a main stay of the genre. It's a cracking little sculpt full of subtle touches like the bio mech arm.

And a parrot on that bio mech arm that can't **** down your back, that's gotta define a whole new genre of steamless funk or funkless steam....I dunno maybe it's the beginning of the long awaited Crappless Parrot genre.
Either way it's a beautifully sculpted piece, great work indeed!!

Alexander clearly states that he isnt sure about steam punk and he didnt put it in the title.
I think thats what people got focused on -its going to be another detector of who its "true" steam punk fan.
On the other hand its good to know what one is talking about - everything is " steampunk" these days, as long as it has some mechanical bits = when focus should be on Victorian culture + steam.

It is true - there is not much of steampunk (classic steam punk if you like) in this work, and also nothing to suggest airship - and thats fine - one can use imagination or go further and convert to own hearts desire. This figure is very subtle style wise - and could fit right in to Pirates of Carribean etc.

People get too focused on titles though.

This is TRUE steam punk:D
