Hey folks! Lt. General Skoboleff needs a sword and scabbard. Being a WWI type (mostly), I don't have either in my spares box. Can anybody help out? 120mm or 1/15th scale. If necessary, I'll make a stab at sculpting both, but would prefer altering some spares if possible.

Here's what I'm looking for.....

Questions for anybody familiar with Crimean to Russo-Turkish period Russian weapons & equipment.

(1) Would either the sword or scabbard be bent? In the illustration, the sword is broken of course, so I can't tell from that. The way the scabbard is shown in the illustration, it looks like the bottom or distal one-third of the scabbard could have a slight curve in it away from or toward the rear of the figure.
(2) What does the leather strap piece attached to the scabbard look like and where is it attached? I assume it would attach somewhere on the right side of the figure at the belt, but I'd like to see an example if possible.

I'm sculpting the coat today and it's comin' along nicely, but now the mower and an overgrown yard calls.

I hate grass!

all the best,
Dan

I agree with Jannie, try Lost Battalion. There is quite a selction in all scales. I picked up a 90mm Sword and scabbard from them at MFCA for a future project I am noodling in my head of Sir Jeffrey Amherst, perhaps in conversation with a Rogers Ranger.

Made the purchase last night and Darla promises shipment today or tomorrow. I bought both the 120mm sword/scabbard accessories, since there were parts of each that looked useful. So the General's needs have (probably) been fulfilled. ;)

80% of the figure is complete - coat sculpted, boots altered, trousers sculpted, hands altered, etc. The coat was fun to sculpt - basically just sheets of Magicsculpt, fitted together, put in the folds, etc. I need to complete buttons, epaulettes, etc. and probably will work on those this weekend, if my "honey do" list isn't too long.

After 8 tries [ !], I finally also got Khudadad's facial color right (I hope) and can proceed to paint him also this week.

all the best,
Dan
