Had this cracking bust as a Xmas from Mrs Helm after she took advice from a "friend" (Cheers Carl you *&%! ) Now this was one I really really liked but knew painting it was out of my league after all...
However it was a great gift and while she said ask Steve of http://www.skminiatures.co.uk/ to exchange it, which I know he would being a real gent it seemed a little churlish to do so. So I pondered it and decided that this might be the way to go with it, a bust from a bust
I first primered it with a spray can of Humbrol Gold then applied layers of a dark brown/bronze metallic acrylic mix well thinned down to ink like consistency. There now remains a very dark brown wash for shadows and dry brushing with gold on the highlights.
As ever interested in your comments on what to me is a new method and style
