I think that you're being too hard on yourself. We all have our own style as you rightly said, and we can borrow methods from others to enhance our own painting method.

Hi Carl,
probably there is something missing in translation, my point was that there is no such a thing as a perfect medium or technique, just personal taste, I found the example I've posted all great works even if the painting styles are so different.
I actually like my painting style, can be better, like everything in life, but I enjoy it and that's what counts.
