Fellow Planeteers-

Can anyone provide me with contact information for Thunderbird?

Some time ago, I added their bust of a young Winston Churchill as a Hussar officer to my GA. Today, I opened the box and found that the ornamental cartridge box (my term) that was worn on the back is a missing part.
The Google machine pulled up a website by their name that is inactive. (error message "404'" etc.)

Thanks for any help

Hi,

I'm sorry to inform you that the owner of Thunderbird Historical Miniatures (Mark Mindeman) passed away some time ago.

A fellow modeller and family friend of his called Michael was given the master sculpts to sell on the families behalf, i was fortunate to acquire the masters and rights to these two 120mm figures.

I think i know who purchased the remainder of the Thunderbird line but i'm not 100% certain so i will not name him..

If you like i could try and contact both of these guys on your behalf and ask the question..

Regards Ian

Hello, Ian-
I appreciate your offer and also your consideration. If such communication is convenient for you, I would be glad to know if I may obtain a replacement part.

If it does not work out, I will do what I can about making my own. Might be an interesting few hours.

Thank you,
Ned

Always sad to hear about a company folding, all the more so due to the passing of the owner.

However, good to know that the masters are still out there. Any plans for a re-release Ian?

Hi Ned,

I've just sent an email off to Mike the guy who was selling the Thunderbird Miniature masters on behalf of Mark's family, hopefully he will reply confirming who has the remainder of the masters..

However, good to know that the masters are still out there. Any plans for a re-release Ian?

Hi Steve,
In answer to your question yes i do plan to re-release them in the near future, i'm not sure when but it's on the cards..

I own forty four 120mm-1/16 scale figure masters from WWI through to present day, their from various well known producers and i'm hoping to acquire more going forward..

Regards Ian

Hi Ned,

Apologies for the delay in replying..

With regard to tracking down the other "Thunderbird Miniature" masters i have drawn a blank unfortunately, in the event i do get confirmation who acquired them i'll be sure to update you..

Regards Ian

Hello, Ian -
Thank you for trying. I have found some reference books that may give me a few ideas of the design for scratch building.

Keep a smile,
Ned
