This one was a fun figure to paint and had fun painting the shield, which I have turned the right way up. I watched a video on youtube about the shield and what straps were used on it.
From what I can gather there is only a hand hold and the strap over the shoulder.
Painted in oil, acrylics and inks.

Hi Bob, as per my recent Fb comments another very nice piece. Really captures the feel of the period! Quite fancy doing mine as a Saxon standard bearer carrying the 'Fighting Man' en route to Senlac. Will use yours as inspiration for the colour palette I think. Regards Pete

Thank you again Pete, I have enjoyed painting this one and may well do something similar, Roman perhaps. I was flying blind painting this although I did research on the web.
Thanks again Pete
Kind regards

That's a cracker Bob. Nice choice of colours and tight work on that shield pattern. The sculptor has put a lot of thought into it - not yelling, pointing or bashing someone, just an "everyday" pose. To me, they are the best. Tin Berlin range is very interesting.

Thanks Phil, yes it's a lovely pose, which drew me to it.

Thank you Kev,
The pose drew me to this one and the shield was spray painted, then I used Tamiya masking tape and again spray painted, that's the easy part.
