Tin figures during WW1

A friend of mine from Australia collects photos and postcards from WW1 and only german ones. He had now bought the one shown here. Tin-figures near the trenches. That would be a very nice scene for a diorama

Thanks. The photo was send in March 1916. We had a name "In Memoria for Reinhard Bosch" but nothing more

Now we know why 'all was quiet on the western front'....the guys were doing their figures.

And they just needed two bottles of paint back then....the world still being in monochrome.
