Tips on sculpting braided hair

Has anyone posted a sbs or have any tips on sculpting braided hair. Need some new tips if anyone has any. Braidied hair worn by Native American men, women and norsemen. thanks

Hi James, if you're looking for tips on getting the pattern/texture right I think the only way to go is have references to hand and practice (that's what I did!)

BTW, do you need them hanging or will they be draped over something, like down the figure's back?

You could try platting some lead wire or solder of the right thickness and then rolling it flatter (as in rolling pin style). Then scribe the hair pattern into the wire with a scalpel tip etc. Its a bit fiddly but looks ok when done!
