Hi PF,
I am tiring to tackle YS's The Thief and tried to search for any good tips or SBS for painting Fur and long hair and could not find any.
Anyone have any tips links? Best methods? Oil or Acrylics?

I don't think it matters what medium you use, whatever you're most comfortable with is what'll probably give you the best results.

Is it the size of the area that you're painting that has you nervous? Because in terms of technique painting a lot of hair is not really any different to painting less of it - block in the major colours, shade and then highlight, work down to the smaller shapes from the major masses.

The one main difference might be using larger brushes. I'd probably use at least a 3 or 4 for most of the work (maybe even up to a 7), and there's probably no need to go down to a 0 or smaller even for any fine details.

Funnily enough this is what I have been doing all evening. Painting the the side of the bristles help and plenty of tonal variations.
