Latest bust just finished from H&V in 1/12. I modified a bit, removing the collar insignia and adding a fouled anchor to the helmet badge to denote France’s colonial troops who fought on the Western Front in the Great War. Painted in oils and acrylics:

Hi Brian

You've done it again , lovely small conversion, nice work on the helmet badge , all extremely well painted , like the uniform colour and the fleshwork speaks for itself

Thanks Mario! In terms of making a wool-like texture, used a Size 0 brush with a good tip to stipple tiny dots of paint along the tops of the folds, occasionally putting some into the odd shadow area next to the highlights as well. The first set of dots are in a tone that is very close to the highlight colour but slightly lighter. Once that dries, I’ll mix a slightly lighter tone still and focus these dots on just the very tops of the folds.

Thank you very much to explain this, gonna practice this on a old figure, because I have 2 busts now and they have
a jacket on that is normally wool, and didn't have a idea how to do that,it's the first time, but like I can see ore read,NOT to much in the darker shades
if I understand it good,
thanks a lot,appreciated this (y)
