Four French Colonial Tirailleurs Senegalais units served at Gallipoli in 1915 - 20e Bataillon de Tirailleurs Sénégalais, 20e Bataillon Tirailleurs Sénégalais du Maroc, 123e Bataillon Tirailleurs Sénégalais, 130e Bataillon Tirailleurs Sénégalais. I wanted to portray three Tirailleurs in a late Summer action pose cresting a small hill, passing through shrubs and dried grass. I put on ground cover and two lines of savanna grass clumps following the clefts of the hill and then surrounded the grass with dried sunflowers. None of the vegetation has been painted to allow the painter to put in shadows, etc. The figures are in 1/16th and were made with my usual Duro and Magicsculpt mix.
I've added some photos to show the dark blue uniform colors and mix of black and brown leather and khaki equipment.
Hope you like it!
All the best,
Dan

Thanks Marcel! Glad you liked them!

For my next project, I'm planning to do four mounted cavalrymen - a US cavalryman from the Villa expedition, an Austrian Ulan, a German Uhlan and a French Chasseur au Cheval. I have the horses and some parts of each figure coming together on the bench now.

All the best,
Dan
