Hi all,

Just need some advice...

On my previous figure some master modellers, whom I greatly admire and respect, suggested that I do my own groundwork, as the base/groundwork supplied with figures is not usually that hot...

The dillema is simply that my next project is a Chas C. Stadden Duke of Wellington (see pic from Stadden site)... now Stadden's come with a very neat (but boring) base...

My question is should I redo the base or leave it as is? Maybe just adding a patch of grass, gravel and dust... It feels like sacrilidge to even suggest dumping the Stadden base...

What say you?

Thanks in advance...

Rudi :)

Ground work is as important as the figure itself, poor or hardly any grouindwork detracts from the figure.

I would put the figure on a nice wooden base and definitely expand the groundwork.

Cheers
Roc. :)

Groundwork every time. The Stadden base, like the Stadden figure, is not so hot; it certainly wouldn't win any prizes. The figure is in field uniform so a "field" base would be most appropriate.
