Tommys War - Naval Rating

I've eventually got around to photographing this piece, which I managed just to finish in time for the informal, just for the hell of it, Tommys War competition run by Faversham Military Modelling Group at their December meeting.

I've not painted a figure for 5-6 years and if nothing else this confirms it is a perishable skill ;-)

If that is the result of a perishable skill you must have been Michaelangelo in your earlier days. Nothing at all wrong with that. Perhaps a little more contrast in shading. And how lucky you are to be part of a group that could even conceive of doing something like an informal Tommy's War competition!

Nice figure and nice painting - clean and natural looking I think and you got the dark blue not too bright.

I find Dark Blue a really hard colour to shade convincingly myself ...this looks good to me

Completely agree, particularly Royal Navy uniform blue.... good work, it's a very nice paint job.
