Before you call the cops and get me sectioned, there was some method in my madness:
  1. I just got a new airbrush so I wanted to try it out (Iwata Revolution BR ..... its a bit good btw).
  2. I just got some new primers so I wanted to try them out (Alclad grey and white ...... they're also a bit good :))
  3. I want to make some decent colour sample chips for my own reference and colour matching (over both grey and white primer).
  4. I'm really crap at airbrushing so I need the practice, and spoons are cheaper than models.
Edit: Today's top tip: Alclad primers need shaking to death before using them (even more than Vallejo) - just make sure the cap is screwed on fully before doing this (look closely at the last pic, say no more ;))

Very inventive mate (y)....all lacquer based primers and paints will need a lot more agitation than acrylics....and your AB will need a higher maintenance regime....make sure you get some AB lube ;)

Nice job, Billy - Ive just bought and modfied a battery operated milk frother for stirring my Vallejos - recommended!!(y)

Cheers Steve, and thanks for your contribution towards my new airbrush (y) It's nice to see you're putting the paints to good use too judging by your recent threads mate :)

Thanks Ron (y) The grey wasn't too bad but the white had obviously been lying a bit longer and had separated quite a bit. it took a good 10 minutes of hard graft just to get the steel balls moving in the bottle. It was worth it though, it sprayed superbly straight from the bottle, no thinning necessary. No drying on the tip either, and I was spraying for a good hour or so, which was a pleasant surprise (I'm used to cleaning the nozzle and needle every few minutes when spraying acrylics). It was also a lot easier to clean the AB afterwards too - a quick swirl out with cellulose thinner, a backflush, a quick wipe of the needle and she was good to go again :)

I always have some lube handy, you never know when you might need it ;)

We as modellers understand other people airbrushing plastic spoons. Well, kind of. Some did even wierder things in the name of science :wacky: .
Just don't mention anything about it on the first evening when out with a girl ... ... ...

P.S: Yepp, Revolution BR IS a good airbrush.
