for the 2nd edition of the modeling exhibition in Turin next June we decided to create a commemorative figurine.
The choice fell on the Regiment of Carignan-Salières that, although in the service of France, was a Franco-Piedmontese military unit formed (we are in Turin, the capital of the Piedmont region).
About 1,200 men (Piedmontese, Savoyard, and Ligurian) arrived in New France in mid-1665 to protect the colonists from local Indian tribes. The regiment's greatest contribution, other than military, was to populate a region poor in settlers. To this day, many descendants of this regiment live in Quebec.
The figure was sculpted by the skilled hands of Marco Pezzotti inspired by a drawing by Eugene Leliepvre. Also the art box is by Marco Pezzotti.
the figure will be available either at the exhibition next june or by mail writing to [email protected]
scale 54 mm
hope you enjoy it
