I've just been looking at Traditon of Londons website

here

I like the look of some of their 54mm & 90mm model soldier range besides being a nice price there are some quite unusual subjects. Has anyone here painted any of these figs? I would appreciate your opinions please

Roger

Roger - I painted the 110mm RC110.20 British Cavalryman 1914 and RC110.21 Poilu 1914. Other than the fact that the sculptor has the cavalryman incorrectly wearing a hat without a stiffener I thought they were good quality. Some of their poses can be a bit "toy soldier-ish".

All the best,
Dan

Hello Dan,
I was looking at the 90mm upward rather than the 54mm figures so thanks.
I was worried about them being a bit toy soldier-ish but if it's just the poses thats ok.
I quite fancy painting some of the figures just prior to WW1 both German and British. To add some colour to my collection

Roger.

I had some of the larger scale figures given to me years ago. though the sculpture were fairly cleanly cast, the quality is not quite up to today's standards.~Gary

Hi Roger

Recently bought some of their 90mm Peninsular War British. Typically fairly clean castings and in several cases almost one piece, very few parts. I'm not sure if that's a virtue or not but it certainly makes a change to be able to just get on and paint. The best of their 90's seem to be the later Andrew Stadden and almost anything by Ron Cameron. As you say the price does minimise the risk, BTW their mail order service has been excellent.

Regards
