Wow, Alex.... (y) (y)

... I agree: a beautiful sculpture, painted by a master.

We painters all could learn so much from you...

It would be great if you did an online step-by-step article here on the planet about "how to paint" one of Quang's beautiful 120mm figures - there are quite a few in his range on which you could perfectly demonstrate your fabulous techniques for painting skin tones and different textures (wool, leather, etc.)

Thank you for posting this one. Your thermostat theory is coming through here... :)

Lovely figure Alex

You are right about Quang he does produce some lovely figures with each one pushing the qulaity that little further up.

To be frank with you, these tribute things always make me feel uneasy.

So let's move on. There are much more interesting things out there.

Thanks anyway! (y) (y)

Hey Frank

Notice the blue/greens in that flesh tone; looks like what we were talking about looking at the Boris Vallejo book where he undercoats his flesh in greens!!

Looks good on a figure

Hi Rob
Boris Vellejo's skin tones have always been an inspiration to me

I now add Alex Castro's painting, to my influences

Must make a start on Lara Croft (not literaly) the 80mm
from Andrea's Three D girls series.

Hi Rob,
see my post ,Confederate Infantryman, Civil War, Bust, Read my tip's on
"Basic Flesh Tones Tips, and Wood Effect Technique!"
No greens, just gray tones, ghost tones!
I hope you all will be patient with my book due out around April,
and I assure you all your questions will be more then fully answered and then some!

Happy Painting
Alex
