Historical Note:

The 6th Seabees arrived at Guadalcanal on September 1, 1942. They were the first Naval Construction Battalion to conduct operations under active combat conditions. The 6th endured heavy Japanese artillery shelling, intense naval gunfire and frequent air raids. The 6th completed many projects on the “Canal”. One was a steel control tower at Henderson Field, it was still standing in 1994. On December 1, 1942, the 6th Seabees were relieved by the First Marine Aviation Engineers and boarded transports on January 4, 1943.

An excellent figure that can be used in a Guadalcanal diorama / Vignette. Good casting and fitting of all parts.
