Hello!
My name is Roman and it's my first post on this forum. I would like to show you the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order, Ulrich von Jungingen. He will soon be released by Ademola22. I painted this figure in oils. I hope you will find him interesting.
Best regards
Roman

Thank's a lot. It's a 90mm resin figure and there are some photo eched parts included.

Re:

Welcome to Planet Figure, Roman! It's a great looking figure, and I hope it will soon be commercially available. Being a fan of a Teutonic knights and medieval era, I hope there will be more of such figures from Ademola22.

Regards,

Nemanja

Welcome to the planet, Roman
Looks like your work will be a great addition to us.
Where have you been all these years?

I really like your figure.
But i don't like the crest (to much fantasy). The coat of arms on the shield is not correct. and if i see it right, the helmet is painted. It must be metal. The cloak "must be" white instead red. Here is a painting where ulrich is painted. Maybe also not so correct but more historically correct then this awesome figure. And another drawing where you can see his coat of arms better.
All in all, a really beautifull figure, but the painting must be corrected.

Marc

Thank you all for your kind words. Marc, I think I don't understand you well. Is something wrong with the shield or the coat of arms on it? The shield belonged to the Grand Master Karl von Trier and it is well known that Ulrich von Jungingen used it on special occasions. He had this shield at the battle of Tannenberg in 1410. The shield shown on the German woodblock print wich you demonstrate is ofcourse correct and could be also used at Tannenberg. The crest looks indeed a bit fancy but as every knight, Ulrich had several spare helmets (and shields), some of them with ostrich feathers wich became fashionable in Europe at the time and some with characteristic peacock feathers. The Lithuanian spear called SULICA was Ulrich's favorate weapon and was used by him in many occasions, also at Tannenberg. And finaly the cloak. No doupt it was red from the inside. This was the main difference between him and the brother knights, for he was the Grand Master.

Roman,
Maybe you are right, about the helmet. i think that the crest on the helmet was not used at Tannenberg. This kind of helmets where used on parade and tournament's not on the battlefield.
Further i disagree with you about the cloak, because i have never seen a Grandmaster of The Teutonic Order in another color then white......
For his coat of arms, i looked for other evidence this is his coat of arms:
But again, this figure is great, and i really want one of them.

The concept i think is well done. I for one would like to know where and when the figure is available. I for one "have to have it"

Ulrich

Hello!
Guy, Hammond Lord, Vergilius, Marc, Rocco, William - many thanks. William, I think that Ulrich will be soon avallable through Adalbertus. www.adalbertus.com.pl Rocco, I saw your work on the planet and I'm truly impressed. Marc, you are right about the helmet, but the presentation idea of Ademola's Ulrich von Jungingen was to show him as he could look like according to the chronicles of Jan Dlugosz and recent historical research. Anyway, In a discussion like ours, I believe we both gain something important.
Best regards
Roman
