Here are two new figures from Ultrcast available from their website at the link below. He is shown in typical kit for flying over the English Channel: leather jacket, life vest and flying boots.

These figures are portraits of fighter ace Werner Molders in 1/32 and 1/48 scale. They were sculpted by the ultra-talented Tom Meier.

This is the 1/32 scale (54mm) figure.

And this is the 1/48 scale (37mm) figure.

Folks, miniature sculpting does not get any better than this!

This is great stuff Mike, thanks for posting.

... I recall your own 100mm pilots for Poste Militaire, they were just as good; I still have an unpainted kit of the RAF pilot somewhere ... :) ... couldn't resist keeping one unpainted, for when I'll have a sea of time to paint ... I love Spitfires ! :)

Hey Mike, c'mon why don't you do that one again in 120mm - Sailor Malan ? Otherwise, Bob Stanford-Tuck would be a great subject too ! Pleeeeaaaaase :)

Hey Mike:

I painted the Imperial Japanese pilot that you sculpted for Ultracast. A little gem. Now lets see. We have German, US and Japanese in the Ultracast range. Any chance you will be sculpting a Battle of Britain RAF pilot for them? Patiently waiting.

Mike's PM pilots have apparently been re-released under the PM-Bonapartes label :) might be able get them this time around--if I win the lottery :( In the mean time, this one looks like winner

Thanks guys! But this was supposed to be about these excellent Tom Meier sculpts!

Kevin McLaughlin at Ultracast has been a truly great guy to work with. I will be doing more figures for him later this year. I think I see an RAF pilot in the future.

Cheers!!

Very true Mike and to that end I think I will most likely be adding this figure to my grey army

I just got my castings of these two figures today. They are completely awesome! The fidelity of detail is incredible. You will have to be careful about applying paint to avoid filling in any of it. Things like the jacket zippers, Knight's Cross and knit waistbands have to be seen to be believed.

The two different sizes almost appear to be "computer clones' of each other. Every single wrinkle and detail on the 54mm figure has been duplicated on the delicate 1/48 scale figure......

Truly masterful!

Mike

Tom's (and your !) work are out of this world.

Mölders with a Tamigawa 109E on the channel front would look very good ...

Eduard has announced a new 109E in 1/32 for the end of 2008.
