Hi guys
I was wondering frome some reference pics that Whitman was wearing a type of blue coveral under his leather act would he have won that in the Normandy campaign , or was that during the eastern front offensive

It's been said that he wore blue Luftwaffe overalls in Normandy, but to me this sounds speculative. In other discussions it was 'proven' otherwise.
Not sure where the obsession with an SS guy's pants comes from, but somehow this is a big thing in the hobby.
The Wittmann figure I have will get black trousers.

Yes, he did wear these overalls in Normandy. There are several photos that show him wearing them. There has been much speculation as to where they originated, but the fact that a reporter interviewing him said they were blue in no way implies that they were necessarily "Luftwaffe" in origin. Dark blue is and was a common color for such work dungarees. Think of dark blue denim such as Levi pants.....
