I visited this area earlier in the year and Fort Jackson, which is right in sight of this salvaging, has plenty of room to house a nice exhibit. They already have scale models of many ironclads at the fort. I finally have organized pictures and text together and am going to make a report on my visit to Savannah. Brits should be especially happy as Savannah brings not 1 but 2 victories in the Rev War.:p

Bob I so think this is a story to watch. It will be difficult for the local authorities not to find space for an exhibition and conservation space for these finds.
It's such an important part of your history.

I had a very good friend who was well into history had a wicked sense of humour and was also a US citizen.

He always laughed when I insisted on calling the 1776 conflict as the 3rd English civil war.

1st Cvil war was that of Matilda and Stephen.
2nd Civil war between Cromwell and Charles.
3rd Civil war was between Colonials and their King.
So.....where we lost we also won and vice versa.

Look after the place buddy we may come and get it back if you keep the place ship shape and Bristol fashion.
(just the colonies, the rest of it is yours).
:D
Paul.
