Looks good, dude. I recently painted this one too. Couple of questions:
1. are the boots & gloves done? The boots and the gloves should be brown leather.
2. is the BAR done? The foregrip and butt are supposed to be wood.
There's something else I noticed: if this is a late-war GI, then in all likelihood the BAR would have had it's bipod assembly and carrying handle removed. This was a very common practice amongst BAR gunners as the war progressed.
Marc,
Might want to try to blend in some midtone color with your base and wash it over once the final shadow is applied. This way, there isn't such a contrast between highlights and the shadows...does that make sense?
Looking forward to seeing more of your work...
Hey Rubber, good start but like Patty Boy Kirk says, need to blend in your highlights and shadows. In my thoughts it will be harder with acrylics but you can do it with a little work and practice. I used to switch (just paint) from acrylics to oils and back all the time before I got more comfortable with oils. Still undercoat in acrylics but like anything worth doing right takes time. Read some of Jaume Ortiz stuff on how he does acrylics or this http://www.ttfxmedia.com/vallejo/cgi-bin/_...elcolortecnicas
It might give you some tips and ideas. Take care and good luck.
