In this position, the braced tail of chin strap will hang down and beat into the left eye. Comfortable for casting but absolutely uncomfortable in real.

Is he supposed to be waist high in water? It's very well painted but I can't see anything but a torso in the ground. It's really confusing to look at and I think I must be missing something

That leads to another question. How did he pass the barbed wire behind him then?

Is it worth going back and adding some more blues and aqua shade to the water? It's looking more like concrete than it is water at the moment. I think that's ice around him but it doesn't stand out as such against the greeny grey water.
