Ares Mythologic Miniatures
Vercingetorix
54T50
54mm white metal
6 parts
sculpted by Eduard Perez
painted by Jose Jarque
I received 2 figures from Jose Jarque and decided to do a review for each figure. The first is an outstanding figure of Vercingetorix, in 54mm. This is the first I have experienced an Ares Mythologic figure and I am really pleased at the quality in both sculpting design and casting. I had to really hunt for the seam lines and on some of the parts……there were none to be seen. The few I did find were so small that they cleaned up with a couple of strokes of a sanding board.
The kit is comprised of 6 parts including a white metal base for mounting. The kit was well packed with all parts in a separate sealed envelope and sandwiched between a thick piece of foam.
Having done several Vercingetorix in the past I was blown away by the sculpting and casting of this figure. The detail of the hair and face combined with the detail of the chest armor makes this version really stand out above all previous figures of Vercingetorix.
The pose is casual and as you can see here the figure is balanced on the left leg with the drapery of the cloak also touching the ground.
The draping of the cloak and being tucked into the belt is done realistically and the folds of the cloak are outstanding and beg to be painted.
The above photo shows the back and armor exposed as the cloak is pulled to one side.
The close-up of the head shows the clear defination of the nose and eye detail as well as the individual hair strands.
An exceptional figure produced by Jose Jarque and Ares Mythologic Miniatures and you can be sure that I will have more figures in my stash from this company in the years to come.
