Sculpted and painted by Young B. Song

Vercing 01.jpg

I find this to be an amazing sculpting by Young B. Song in the sense of the kit being in only 4 parts, including the base / plinth. Arriving in Young's sturdy black box with a clear plastic sleeve the parts were sandwiched between layers of foam for protection during shipping.

Above you see the 4 parts of the kit. The main part being the head, chest and arms all sculpted as one unit. The wings to the helmet are cast separately.

Above you see various views of the main part, the bust itself with the amazing attention to detail Young is famous for. I found no seam lines and just the mold plugs at the bottom of the chest to be removed.

Above are some close-ups showing the detail and sculpting Young has done. I fully expected to see the arms cast separate and was pleasently surprised to see them already attached.

Above are the separte cast wings to the helmet with the mold plug on the bottom leaving the wings themselves virtually flash free and seamless.

Above you see a close-up of the feathered detail of the wing sculpted by Young.

Conclusion:
This has got to be one of the best sculpted busts I have seen from Young. Combined with his excellent professional casting skills I am sure we will see many different versions in the coming years. The only clean-up is the mold plugs at the bottom of the chest and at the bottom of the wings.
