I want to see this. And its not historical in that sence that its based on the Saga of Ragnar Lodbroke.
From what I have heard so far, Oden (the great god aka Odin) appears as does a shieldmaiden. The latter has at least some more historical support than the former.

Watched the premier Sunday night... I know what I'll be doing Sundays at 10pm for the next 8-10 weeks ;) . It looks really cool... Costumes are good, scenery is awesome and the hero's wife is worth the price of admission alone .If the opening scene is an indication then the action sequences should be good too.

Heres hoping

Colin

As Colin correctly ssaid - the hero's wife is worth the price of admission alone

if that's not a good enough reason to watch it I don't know what is...couldn't agree more with your comments.

Ivar approves of this series so far....and he does not like much!

Will this be coming to the UK ? I can't find out anything about it on the History Channel site.
Pete

Apparently:
Vikings premiered on March 3, 2013 on History in the UK, Ireland and in the United States,[4] where episodes are also available on the channel's website, and on History in Canada.[14] It also premiered a day later on HBO Nordic in Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway. - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vikings_(TV_series)

The UK site doesn't feature it strange, for those that are interested:

Waiting patiently for episode 3 to start... got about an hour to kill... maybe I'll cut my hair like Ragnar's while I wait.

Whatever it takes to land myself a Shieldmaiden:love:

I have seen the firsts 3 episodes
Not taking accuracy into account ( I'm not an expert ) , it's very well done . Will certainly not miss the others .

Most ridiculos I ever seen, its actually so badly done that its funny.

Its a series about a group in US, (LA?), that reposses unpaid cars and other things. This is actually dramatisations of the "true" story told by the repro-guys themselves? Combine mythomanics with professional attention whoring, low budget and poor acting and you got that show in a nutshell.

No, I hadnt even heard about it until I saw you post. A quick google-search and I thought it looked a bit like the Beverlyhillibillies? Have merely seen pieces of it as references in other sitcoms. Isnt there a show about real hillibillies catching catfish barehanded? I have seen small parts of that on occasion, but it seems to be all the same every episode?

I would like to remember that PF´s own celeberity, Mr Heintz participated in some kind of reality-show about the old west? Have not seen any of that either.
