Hello everybody

I finally finished off my militiaman from FeR miniatures. I posted some almost finished WIPs in the vBench forum, but now that he's finished, I thought I'd post some completed pics here.

For some reason he looks far more yellowish in the pics than in real life. (with my limited knowledge on photography, I'm guessing it's the light bulbs in the room...)

Thanks for stopping by :)
Phil

Lots of excellent painting gone into this Phil:).
What stands out for me is the pin striping on the waistcoat and the leatherwork on the belts(y).
keep on drumming.
Ralph.

You need to adjust the white balance in the camera in function of the kind of lighting you have in your room if you want to get rid of the yellow

Thanks Ralph! - I got a bunch of gigs/shows (and some studio work) that I'll be playing this week, so there will be plenty of drumming! As a matter of fact though, I'm starting to turn down work so I can spend more time painting!!:ROFLMAO:

Phil

Thanks for the advice Alex. This past Saturday I was able to go to the art supply store and pick up some daylight light bulbs. It's a HUGE difference. Hopefully that will tone down the yellow in any subsequent pics... (and then I'll mess with the camera settings if needed - I'm scared of messing with any kind of electronic device)

Regards,
Phil

Very nice muted colours.
Excellent leather effect.
Looks just right for the period.

Cheers,
Andrew

Thanks Andrew! I was definitely going for soft, muted colors, so thanks for picking up on that!

Regards,
Phil
