This soon to be released figure from Michael Roberts represents a soldier of the Virginia Regiment, 1754. Sculpted in 54mm by Gary Dombrowski. I painted this one in oils with printers inks for the metallics. This figure is due to be released at next week's Atlanta Show.

Kreston-

Looks great (y)

What do you use as an undercoat prior to the printers ink? An acylic base?

Thanks for the kind comments. Gary has done an excellent job sculpting this piece. I paint the printers inks over acrylics. Brass is over brown and silver is over a dark gray.

For the black leather I use a mix that is very dark gray/brown and just lighten it for areas I want to look worn.

Excellent work Kreston, and Gary. It should fit right in with the others in MR Ltd.'s AIW line.

Guys, Thank you very much for the kind words, the are appreciated. I've only done a couple 54's and they are not easy beleive me, I'm more comfortable with 75-120mm figures. Hopefully they'll get easier if I come out of my "comfort" zone more often.

Kreston, Great paintjob. The colors are just right. Now to find a F&I subject you can put mud on.~Gary
