Hey Guys,

I just got a bunch of emails from model related places. It is the Norton Anti Virus Deleted1.txt virus file that I am getting. Good thing my Norton virus is doing its job (I hope).

Be sure to check the attachment file names before you open an attachment.

Just thought I'd let you guys know, and give you a heads up.

Another virus that my antivirus program caught was something called " I-Worm.Moodown." Sounds bad to me, although I have no clue what it really is.

Hmmm people needs to get a life, maybe take up figure modelling instead of making viruses and worms.

I got emails from Andrea, RomeoModels and Militart Miniatures Warehouse, they all contained the same things mentioned above. However, I dont want to discourage you from emailing these places, just giving you a heads up.

How about exercising some initiative and contacting the manufacturers themselves? I'm sure they'd be quite grateful if they were informed that their server had been infected by a virus.

By the way, you're right: too bad these 30-year-old Trekkie-virgins-who-still-live-in-their-parents-basements don't take up historical miniature painting instead (or at least take up GR online. You find your disks yet? Come on! I need new Tangos to shoot at!!!).

That is a W32.Netsky.B worm virus. It willscan you pc for email addys and subsequently start to spread itself via it's own built in SMTP (outgoing email server) it will spoof the "from to:" line so, it will not necessarily be coming from where it says.

There is a removal tool available here:

Greetings,
I know Anders meant well with attached post, but please be aware that I did a complete virus scan on my computer and there were no viruses detected. There is no problem with either my web site or my e-mail. My only guess is that since (maybe?) Anders had the virus in his computer, the e-mails he was getting were due to the fact that his computer was hosting the virus.
Rest assured, my web site and my e-mails are virus-free.
Regards,
John McNenney

Guys, I did a complete virus scan on my computer yesterday after getting a pop up saying I had some kind of worm or something. My system is clean and I hope to keep it that way.~Gary

Gary,

THose are really tricky because they place the familiar "x" to close the window near the real one. When you go to close it, and hit the wrong one, poof enters the worm.
