Hi everyone, I'm working on the 120mm Jon Smith Stormtrooper. I'd like to add a 120mm SMG to either of his hands, replacing the rifle he has now. I know Verlinden USED to make a figure with that gun but I can't seem to find it on any website. Does anyone have the gun or the figure who would be willing to part with one or the either for a reasonable fee?. Or do you know any company that has a good set of 120mm W.W. 1 weapons?
Thanks in advance,
Ben Harper

Hi Ben

I seem to remember Kirin did a WWI German Stosstruppe figure carrying a Bergman MP18. I need to check, but I might have bits of this kit in my spares box. The other options are the Artillery P.08 or Mauser C96, both of which saw service with the Stormtroops. I think I might have a C96 somewhere too. I'll get back to you.

Cheers

OK Ben

I've had a scratch through the spares box and unfortunately I don't seem to have the Bergman (wonder where that went?) but I have come up with a nice 120mm white metal Mauser broomhandle, complete with hand, and also a resin wooden holster-stock. I think they might originally have been from a Fort Royal Review figure.

If you are interested, PM me your contact address and I'll post 'em off pronto

Cheers

Phil

Good conversion idea! Since you're converting him, I hope you're considering changing the head. Although the head is a very accurate depiction of the photo Jon used as reference, the facial features are nondescript and I've had several painters tell me it is difficult to paint. What you do get with Jon Smith's kits is a lot of detailed, superbly sculpted and cast field equipment, uniform details and weapons. :)

If none of the suggested options come thru, I wonder if a Bergman could be 'converted' using the New Order Model Design WS-03 WW2 German SMG kit?

All the best,
Dan
