I do like the texture on the painted helmet. Is the kit helmet textured or is it painted on?~Gary

Hello

I'm have some problems with the images, but its possible to look at all my model projects on my web site: Dioramas of Plastic Models.

The helmet texture is created in three phases:

1) Spray the helmet with white TAMIYA Surface Primer. Add a thin layer of putty. Use a tooth-brush or an other brush to make a rough irregular texture before it dry.

2) Paint the helmet with Humbrol Enamel colour (black and some small amount of brown, and aluminium). Use a tooth-brush and make a Humbrol "Maskol-chipping".

3) Paint the helmet with Vallejo colour and let it dry. Remove the Maskol-chipping with an eraser. Make some extra scrapes or scratches with a knife.

Thats it!
