I'm starting a very nice set of two WSS infantry soldiers from Alpine miniatures, 1/35 scale. Fitting of the parts is very good, no problems here. Resin is primed with Mr. Surfacer 1500 grey. For the base of Oak leaf pattern I used VMC 875 Beige brown, trousers are mix of VPA 334 and 335 for Fieldgrau. Flesh tones are also from Panzer aces-VPA341 Base, 342 Highlight, 343 Shadows.
Next-highlight and shadows on the uniform, then the details painting.

As Nap has said looking good, as for alpine figures they are very good. Not my period but following with interest..
Cheers

They look awesome so far. The figures look really nice I really want to buy resin figures but am always put off by the price but these look lovely

Yes, the price is higher than the plastic ones, but quality and detail is outstanding! I have also Bravo-6, Evolution, Live resin figures (there are many more)-also of high quality, you can't go wrong with all of them ;)

Regards

Highlights and shadows
For Brown base:
-shadows: VMC 875+826 German Medium brown
-highlights: VMC 875+825 German Pale brown+976 Buff
For Fieldgrau:
-shadows: fieldgrau+979 German Dark green
-highlights: fieldgrau+976 Buff

Looks really good! Love the camo. What colours did you use for the camoflage?

Thanks!

I used VMC 894 Russian green blotches first, then VMC 967 Olive green for the light spots and VMC 979 German camo dark green.

Regards,

Thanks mate, got all them colours in my stash so next time I'm doing this camo I'll try your method. Done a few german figures with this camo pattern but don't look as good as yours IMG_2879.PNG

Thank you, Borek!

I want to show my main "weapons" for painting with acrylics :)
I'm using Raphael 8404 and W&N series 7 brushes, both size "1". As you can see Raphael's belly is larger, but still with amazing point and can hold more paint; the W&N one is sharper and with fewer bristles, but paint is prone to dry faster because of that. I slightly prefer those over the W&N (heard that quality dropped). I think will stick with Raphael in the future. Some retarder and glaze medium are also handy. And the most important tool-the Masters brush soap ;)
Most of the work, if not all, I'm doing with that size, but maybe will buy a "0" one to try for details, although you can paint even eyes with the "1" (y)

Cheers!

Other details painted, I've made the rifle strap from foil with metal buckle from PE set (needs some different browns for leather though). The bread bag I will paint lighter color, I'm waiting for some more paints. Rifle is 977 desert yellow for base, then various oils, metal parts with Gunze Metal color 214 Dark iron and 213 Stainless steel for highlights.

And last job for this year :)

With the second figure I will do the things differently, instead of grey Surfacer, it is primed with black and white. That way I will make shadows and highlights of the base color and some difference from the first figure. By the way those Surfacers 1500 are great, beautiful spray and coverage with Leveling thinner and doesn't obscure even the smallest details :)

Great painting and the finer details are very good. I also use the brush cleaner and preserver, money well spent IMHO.

Happy New Year to everyone!

Continuing with the face-helmet is Fieldgrey, buffed slightly with steel pigment for slight metallic look.

Cheers!
