Finished painting this little guy this afternoon, Vallejo acrylics & inks used throughout. All he needs now is an overall matt coat tomorrow to blend in the washes.
This was my first attempt at painting W-SS peas pattern camo, I followed Calvin Tan's method & found it an enjoyable experience; I'd now like to try some of the other patterns & in larger scales.
He will be a commander figure for Tamiya's Jagdpanzer IV/70 which I'm currently working on.

Thanks very much for the comment Kev, & for re-orientating the photo. When I look at this on my iPad, the photo always appears the right way up - strange.....
I read on another site where someone else had this orientation problem when posting photos, & was advised to crop the photo to a square shape (ie. photo size, as opposed to portrait or landscape) before finally posting. He tried this & it worked, so I'll give it a go next time.

The pea/dot pattern camo wasn't that difficult to do actually, I approached it with trepidation but followed Calvin Tan's described method in "Modelling Waffen-SS Figures" to the letter including his mixes & I'm quite pleased with the result in 1/35. I'd like to try some different patterns, maybe in 120mm or 1/10 busts (!) to challenge myself a bit more - some of the Autumn patterns or Plane Tree look much more difficult, but they look gorgeous when completed on some of the figures I've seen.
It's not as if I don't have the time to try new things at the moment...…..can't use that excuse any more!

Today's challenge is "discoflage" camo on the Jagdpanzer IV/70 - stencils at the ready, just have to cut out lots of 1/35 masking tape discs to form the pattern. I can see this being a long job, but hoping it pays off :cautious:
