Attached are pics of the figures entered in the Western Australian Scale Model Expo 2007, held last weekend in Perth. Overall the standard was very high and the talents of local figure modellers was impressive.

I hope to have a few more figure pics available next week.
Cheers
Tony

Thanks for your comments. WASMEx has only been going for 7 years and its still growing, but we are trying hard to encourage kids to get into modelling and give the hobby a future. All juniors are given free model kits as prizes in the competition, which is a great way of building enthusiasm for modelling and keeping their costs low. Some of our members also conduct workshops for junior modellers in one of our local hobby stores each weekend to pass on the skills and techniques learned by the older modellers in our club.
Regards
Tony

Morning mate,
good stuff bro. I think I know some of those wee men, look forward to seeing some more pics' I had hoped to get to the show this year, but best plans of mice and men, don't allways happen, perhaps next year, Question bro. whats this six months to paint a big figure,... get the paint on and push it around, you'll be my age before you complete the next one, he! he!
cheers man Phil....

G'day Bro
Nah, I'll never be THAT old!!!!
Thanks for your comments. Your young blokes' figures look pretty good Phil; he's a real chip off the old figure base!!
Apart from the large scale digger, I also did the little 54mm Aragorn figure. I loved working in a smaller scale. It only took me a month to paint.
I'm heading off to Melbourne for a couple of day tomorrow, so I hope to have some time to visit Hearns Hobbies and Vic Hobby Centre.
Cheers
Tony
