hello
this verlinden bust was done after an wartime photo of the colonel.its an brilliant bust and likeness is more than good.i painted it in acrylics and opted for an unshaven look because Mölders was plagued by this feature.in nearly no photo even in mess he is without it.
i think its not longer in the program which is an shame because its really good.and because i like german army i did go for this
cheers

Cool! (y)

This is the first time I've seen one painted :) (besides the box art) I sculpted that one about ten years ago! Thanks Markus this made my day! :D

hello gordy
really-well then i lift my hat in awe.you did an impressive work there.may i asume than that the Hartman and Galland verlinden bust is by your hands too????????because those are more than impressive too.
i think you have pinpointed Moelders the very sharp nose as the rest of his aristocratic face.
i would hartly recommand that to the real good painters,(y)(y)
i enjoyed it
do you still sculpt?
cheers

Thank you Markus, yes Hartmann and Galland I did for Verlinden as well, Hartmann I'm not so happy with I had a tight deadline and it showed. Galland on the other hand I like very much but was requested to make flying cap as an optional head, the one seen one the box art, which in my opinion completely ruined the piece. I like the bare head much better :)

Molders was my favourite of the three :)

Yep, I'm still sculpting :D

hi
i agree the flying helmet looked not so tempting the peaked cap would have been nicer.but the bare headed is brilliant.have him too here.bought an bunch bad painted and will work them over.its one of the next
well i liked Hartmann too you catched the smile quite good.
well then i could think you might have done peiper and skorzeny as well?????????for verlinden
hope you do not mind my curiosity.
in any case Mölders is really impressive.they had really some great stuff in their range in the old days.
even if today they are still some which are still great.
would love to see more germany done by your talented hands.i would go for them.(y)

Thank you, no mind at all :)
peiper and skorzeny were done by someone else, I'm not sure who, Verlinden is very tight-lipped on who his sculptors were and are..
I've not seen Verlinden in almost ten years since we've parted ways even though he's within walking distance from my house!
I'd not be opposed to doing some Great War or older subjects :)
