Wet Pallet questions

Okay so I finally got a wet pallet I like. I got the one from Exemplar, I have two questions to get started for when I finally sit down to work:

One how long will the paint last with the water before it gets moldy?

Two how much water do I actually need? Do I soak the pad or just lightly wet it? Thanks guys

I've had no concerns using WP including the paint going mouldy , glazes , you want the sponge wet but not overflowing around the edges otherwise it will leak onto the paper

There are a lot of videos out there to look at as well
