I have seen the D-Day figure up close, it is a very nice figure! It even comes with a really nice rock base. Not sure about the Jap, but it looks very cool!

I've seen them both, in the flesh, and painted..they're absolutely beautiful..vince does a great job on all his figs 1/35-200mm
The ranger is really nice, and as anders said, comes with the nice pointe du hoc rock base

Hello,

I have some more images of my 2nd Ranger which I'd taken several days ago ( which I haven't yet post them in my site ). They should give you a better idea how the Ranger model looks like. The kit comes with the top and front cliff ( together with the two sides and back as smooth vertical wall ). The barbed wire is not included with the kit.

cheers,

vince

Hello Vince ,
Congratulations , it is very well done , master work !
These photos made me already order one at Michtoy .
What can you tell me about resin problems , holes , seam line , misaligment etc...
Another thing , what paint did you used to make this figure , and if is not asking you too much , what color have you used for each part ?
If you like to make a quick review it would help me a lot , about colors , weathering and effects you applied to this figure , I am amazed with your work.
I have Polly Scale , Model master , Tamiya , Humbrol , Testors , Gunze , Liquitex , Oils , and Vallejo sets....
Thanks for your precious time in advance !
Best Regards

Hello Julian,

The figure was painted completely with acrylic. I use to mixed my own acrylic and stored them in glass jars. Basically I use Holbein artist acrylic ( out of no particular reason except I happen to have a packet of it in my basement ) and add small amount of gouache of the same colour. The added gouache helps to give a more matt finish. If you have Vallejo and Polly Scale, these paint should works just fine. The whole model was painted with brush and no airbrushing. The method is glazing which you paint the tone by applying layers of transparent washes. The weathering are also done by careful glazing and no dry-brushing. Some people might find the acrylic didn''t adhere quite well to resin surface, it might have to do with how they apply the paint. Usually I would apply a layer of basic color to the figure and let it dry and set for a while. It might not cover all the areas but just be patient and let it dry. Then I would go on with a second coat and again let it dry, then a third coat. Usually 3 coats will give a good base for further painting the shadows and highlights.

Hope this will help.

Thanks Vince ,
It's a completely different Approach , that I am not used to .
I tought you had used straight from the bottle paints to make the figure .
But I have some good Options here...
When it arrives , I will take some pictures before assembly to make a small review about the quality , problems , etc...
So , Thanks again for your time , and Congrats. Again !
Regards

Julian
