Welcome to planetFigure Themage :)

What brand of paint are you using?
I would follow that up with suggesting a matte finish paint so that they don't appear shiny...

Are these resin, white-metal or plastic?

Thanks for the welcome

i forgot to add that i did not put dull coat on it yet hehe

they are plastic tamiya figures

i am using mostly model master (testors) paint

and need to work on faces somemore too

I suggest reading some of the painting threads on the forum. Also check out the articles section. It looks like you've used a black wash for the faces. Washes for faces are effective from far away, but fail under closer scrutiny. If you choose to stick with washes for faces, may I suggest using a reddish brown.

thanks for the tip john long

yes i build armor and working on some diaramoas with some figures and armor

i found that i built and painted the figures before i got the armor models done hehe

also been doing some bigger scale things like polar lights figures

Hey Thamage,
On the right path,I would suggest instead black washes on the faces, you might want to use browns, what do you think?

Roc. :)

Welcome to planetFigure Themage,

I suggest that you use, if you prefer Model Master, that they be flat acrylic or enamel paints;whichever you prefer. I use mostly Tamiya paints and some colors from Model Master. Even if you use dullcote the finish on the clothes is too glossy. I do armor and dioramas also in 1/35 scale. Next trying setting up a flesh paint in a separate bottle that will give you a basis for your flesh tones. I have a post in the painting section under the name KingTiger. Check it out and hopefully you might get an idea of what I'm talking about. In May, my instructor Alex Castro (Elia Cid on this site) is having his book come out in stores. It's all about painting miniatures. Try it, you'll like it. Also check out his work.

Good luck

KingTiger

Thanks , i ordered some painting books from the library as well hope they can help me some

i got another question i see on some topics they call the figures in mili meters

whats the correct mm for a 1/35 scale ?

54mm is the closest advertised to 1/35. It's closer to 1/32 and can look funny alongside 1/35 scale armor. There are good figures from Warriors, Hornet and Nemrod that are advertised as 1/35 if you want to integrate them with armor or plastic figures. If you're budget concious, DML is a good buy. Four figures for about $9 US.
