Polish Lancer by Richard Almond

The figure in question is a 90mm release from Richard Almond. I once had the kit and enjoyed assembling and painting it. I believe someone is re-releasing the old Almond kits in England. Name escapes me.

Kndest Regards, Terry Martin

Terry is right, defenitly a Richard Almond piece.
Almond figures are really nice figures, I painted quite a few.

Thanks guys!

I happen to have an Almond Lansknecht and Irish Kern and I must say i am impressed. I believe these figures are old but are one of those that are standing up to the test of time - somewhat like DF Grieve figures. Some figures from the nineties and earlier tended to be stockier and have less refined features, details and folds.

I do notice though that the casting of these old figures are a bit heavier and shinier in finish compared to come of the newer figures out today. Somehow the composition of the metal used has evolved over time. I recall reading from Shep Paine about 'lead poisoning' on figures that would damage paintwork. I wonder if today's figures would still have these problem as its not something discussed these days.

Cheers
Basil
