Hello all,

I convinced myself that I need a Napoleon figure. In his 'classic' depiction: as emperor wearing his grey overcoat on top of the green chasseur (undress?) uniform.

There's plenty to choose from. Andrea has several on offer in 90 mm and 54 mm.I have to say Andrea's 90 mm rather moody looking 'Napoleon at Fontainbleau' looks appealing. But so does their 90 mm standing version of him.

Then there are the Metal Modeles offerings in 54 mm. Looking good too as far as I can tell. The thing is I've never seen either Andrea's or Metal Models Napoleons from close by.

Can someone please advise me on this?

I've got other 90mm Andrea figures and have been quite happy with them. No reason to think the Napoleon one would be any different.

Of course, to complicate your decision, there's also a really nice Napoleon bust from Alexandros. I've got the kit and it's a beautiful sculpt and cast. You might prefer full figures, which is fine. This is just something else to consider. They've got a full figure too... but it's set in Egypt, so not the depiction you're looking for.

Or 120mm Verlinden ( there is also a bust, same size )

I painted the bust some 35 years ago ( 120mm scale not 200mm )

Metal Models. Everything is 2nd best.

Not at my age.....wear glasses and still need a magnifying lamp....and have shaky hands.....54 mm don't exist in my universe....the bigger the better for me :sneaky:
Still think that old Verlinden (120 mm full figure)...is one of the most evocative depictions of Napoleon :wideyed:

Get them all ! It's The Emperor ! I have currently five Napoleons of various scales awaiting my tender ministrations......and plan on adding more to the GA.
