Hello,
exactly 90 years ago the Finnish civil war was culminating in the battle for Tampere. White government forces were trying to defeat the rebellious red guards defending this important industrial centre. The man commanding white forces was General Mannerheim, who later became the Marshall of Finland.
My figure shows him watching the battle in deep thought as the red guards resisted fiercely. This figure is totally schratchbuild with MagicSculp. The collar and right hand are not yet finished. It´s 120 mm.

Nice work,Pekka.
I assume there's meant to be a cigarette in his hand.
That hand looks as though it could be a little refined.
You've done a great job on the folds and drop of the great coat and boots IMO.
Not being familiar with General Mannerheim I can't comment on the figures likeness of the man.
Also love the way you've photographed this figure.Well done.

Good one! It's nice to see someone doing figures of the finnish history. A really rare topic in the figures world!

Hi Pekka, looking really good! It looks as though you've used rolled, thin sheets of putty to do the skirt of the greatcoat? If so then hats off to you, as it can be difficult to apply 'gravity' and make it hang correctly. What have you used to texture the hat - sandpaper?
All the best,
Jon.

Looks great!! I also compliment you on the texture on the hat and that terrific-looking stand up collar. I think I would sand the edges and some other parts of the collar - there are parts that look a little uneven. Could be just the photos. The coat is terrific!

All the best,
Dan

Tnx!!!

Thank you for your comments gentlemen!
The collar is right now under more work. In these photos you see only the base for fur etc. The lower part of the coat is actually rolled, thin putty, but I cheated by covering it with more putty and sculpting the fold in this layer, sorry ;) I textured the hat with a brush, a kinda nail brush. Pushing and pulling with short movements. And he will be holding a cigar in his hand.
Now, back to work. The collar is quite tricky ...

PS. Here is the photo that gave me inspiration;

Some slow progress...

Hi,
Here is some shots of the nearly finished collar. Some minor details need polishing. The hand still needs the glove sculpted. The belt is missing the buttons etc.
