I'm happy to share Wild Spirit. A concept from Aythami Alonso at Notoriginalminis.com
And fantastic sculpt in the end from Pablo Sapia.
Easily the most challenging piece I've painted yet but a welcome challenge.
I actually found the horses mane and the girls hair the trickiest when I was worried about the hair on the body of the horse most. Which with many many brushstokes later I found a look and rhythm I was happy with.
From the start I wanted to do what I could to increase the sense of motion. So I had the idea to add some leafs to suggest them having been kicked up by the gallop. As she isn't out for a relaxing ride. She is on a mission. Somewhere to be. Something to do urgent perhaps.
Very happy with how it turned out.
And once again, an awesome sculpt.
With such a fine sculpt and concept it would be hard to paint it badly! Great piece to work on.
And presentation box it all came shipped in is easily the nicest I've had. Second to none. A lovely touch much appreciated.
