hi this is probably old news here but I found books by William, f powell today that give pretty specific mixing recipes for acrylic and oil paints there are a few titles that cover portraits to landscapes and for someone like me that is going into true figure painting from the aurora plastic kit stuff these looked pretty helpful so I got a few along with a color wheel to understand color and mixing better up until now what ever shade of paint I bought got on the model my wife laughed and said I was getting all fancy now talking about shadeing and such lol just thought I would mention the books

Hi ,

Not so much old news , these books were mentioned in our Pintathon thread , I have since got them , the portrait one is full of great stuff.

Definately something that should be near the bench ...for both Oilys and those more normal(;)) Acrylic painters .

Highly recommended

Thanks for raising this again

I find these books to be a very valuable source of paint recipe info......especially the fact that it includes recipes for skin tones of so many different racial types. I don't think there's any skin tone imaginable that is not included.
And the other titles are just as useful, a great resource, I find.

hi all I was looking over the portrait one last night and it will be a big help to me I think I even got color theory down to a point
