I started painting Knight Models Thor today. I think it's a 75mm figure but the head is tiny more like a 54mm head, I guess that's for the comic proportions.
I think I may have gone a little too red with the flesh tones. Any thoughts would be helpful.

I tried to get the clearest picture I could but using the camera on the phone this was the best I could get.

Thanks,
Andrew.

Hello Andrew:

I'm familiar with that figure; which is rare. So much of the time, Planeteers
post pix of a figure I'm not familiar with, or have forgotten about, and so I
have to guess the scale. Not the case here; plus (y)(y) you did
mention the scale.

Re your querry about whether the face is too red. That may be or it may not
be a problem. I suggest you complete the painting on the rest of the figure
first, and than take another look at the face and decide if you need to alter
the flesh tones. Not always, but IMHO, so much of the time, the colours
around the colour in question do have a big impact on our perception of that
color or shade or hue, . . . Hope this helps, mate,

After putting this figure away for a while cause it felt like I couldn't get anything right on it, I got him back out again and gave it another shot, been working on the arms and front of the tunic. It's slowly getting there I think.

Andrew,

it can be hard to gauge colour for a face.....

try blocking the hair in; this will help you gauge if the colour is heading the way you want.

looks ok so far, even if the camera you are using is a bit limited.

Keep on keeping on!
