The homepage was a little unclear. Is the Square Plinth type of base available in Yew and Mahogny or just Mahogny?

Would be nice if they had other sorts of wood.

It would be nice to know how the Bases look from BENEATH! Have bought several Bases the last years, and they all were crap. Because of bad finish, no finish from beneth and finish that comes off.

Since those disasters, I make my Bases myself.

Frank the bases are fiished with green baize felt underneath and are of excellent quality,The are very attractive, particularly those made from yew. Mail order service is good

I purchased from this company a while back.
The quality is very nice. The Yew wood I did
not care for.. its a light color wood and has some
interesting grain. This had to be pieced right down
the center. I had them do a few custom sizes for
me also. They were easy to deal with. I talked
to the company via email...
Shipping into the states was a bit expensive... but
I think it was worth it.

Hi all

Can I also here commend the products of Pete Armstrong. Don't think he has a website but his telephone (UK) contact is 01915270532. He has made several bespoke bases for me in the past, not only in size but also shape. I'm not sure he even has a "standard" range. His quality is absolutely first rate, bases are also baize finished underneath.

I use these bases in yew for my busts, quality is very good and Derek the owner is always very helpful when you require special sizes. I would recommend these bases especially if you live in the UK
