This was painted in acrylics. It was a practice in blending highlights and shadows. Verylittepaint, lots of water, and many, many coats.

Oh yes, very very good mate. Amongst your best stuff. I think what others are referrring to when they say 'more shading' is the bit where (as we look at him) his upper arm meets the torso. If you can replicate the shading you have given him between his forearm and the leg in that area, it would improve it a bit.

Otherwise, good stuff in deed.
 
Also consider going as dark in an arc from under his thoigh, round his backside and along his back, possibly on the hat. It would make him appear a little bit rounder. Anyway, some people never get to grips with green, but you clearly have managed it Pete - well done ;)
 
A definate improvement. This is lovely little flat. I love the presentation as well - very imaginative and in keeping with the subject - a job well done mate. ;)
 
Well done...very familiar with reliefs. ( called flats in the miniature world )........sometimes tough to bring out the flat into 3 dimension......Again...very nice job.......regards.....Wayne
